Clay Bowman (Owner)
Clay Bowman is an entrepreneur, real estate investor, inventor, and business leader whose passion for entrepreneurship began at an early age. As the oldest of four children, he was raised in a family involved in residential real estate, restaurants, sports facilities, and various other business ventures, making business ownership a natural part of life from the very beginning.
Born in Southern California and later raised in Colorado, Clay was a First Team All-State baseball player and launched his first business, a car detailing company, at just 14 years old while at Fort Collins High School. He studied business at the University of San Diego and Concordia University, graduating with honors before earning his JD/MBA from Loyola Marymount University. While attending the University of San Diego, he also competed as a collegiate baseball player.
While still in college, Clay recognized the opportunity created by the real estate industry's transition from film to digital marketing. With no formal photography training, he taught himself the profession and founded Bowman Group in 2000. Through innovation, technology, and highly efficient business systems, Bowman Group grew into California's leading provider of real estate photography, media, and marketing services.
In addition to his business accomplishments, Clay has a strong engineering and product development background and holds multiple design and utility patents. Today, he serves as Founder and Co-Owner of God Family Country Investments, where he combines decades of entrepreneurial experience, real estate expertise, construction knowledge, and business leadership to create value for investors while helping strengthen communities throughout Tennessee.
A devoted Christian, husband, and father, Clay and his wife, Katie, have been married for more than fourteen years and are the proud parents of three children: Colton, Carter, and Kendall. The family is actively involved in their church, local schools, and youth sports programs. Clay coaches many of his children's athletic teams and is passionate about teaching leadership, character, discipline, and teamwork through sports.
Known for building long-term relationships and giving back to his community, Clay is actively involved in charitable and philanthropic efforts. Outside of business, he enjoys fitness, the outdoors, family time, and his lifelong passion for automobiles, ranging from classic American muscle cars to high-performance luxury vehicles.
Whether in business, family life, or community involvement, Clay remains committed to the principles that inspired the creation of God Family Country Investments: faith, integrity, hard work, and service to others.
Luis Diaz (Owner)
Luis Diaz is a proud United States Marine, entrepreneur, and Co-Owner of God Family Country Investments. Raised in Southern California, Luis developed a strong work ethic, deep faith, and entrepreneurial mindset from an early age. Inspired by the construction industry, he developed a lifelong passion for real estate, development, and business ownership.
Before joining the Marine Corps, Luis launched his first business while still in high school. He later served three tours of duty, gaining the discipline, leadership, and perseverance that continue to guide him today. After his military service, he earned a business degree from the University of Redlands and pursued a career in real estate and construction.
Following his move to Knoxville, Tennessee, Luis quickly established himself as a respected real estate professional. His expertise in East Tennessee real estate, construction, and investment properties helped transform God Family Country Investments from an idea into a successful company. Today, he plays a key leadership role in acquisitions, construction, and business development.
A devoted man of faith, Luis is also passionate about fitness, having previously competed as a professional bodybuilder. He enjoys performance automobiles and spending time with his three dogs—Sully, Milky, and Poncho.
Known for his honesty, integrity, and determination, Luis has earned the trust and respect of clients, investors, and colleagues throughout the Knoxville community. His leadership, character, and commitment to excellence make him an invaluable part of the God Family Country team.
Tyger Smock
Growing up in York, Pennsylvania, just west of Philadelphia, Tyger developed an entrepreneurial mindset at an early age. At just 16 years old, he launched his first business, Smock's Pressure Wash, building it into a successful six-figure company through hard work, determination, and a commitment to delivering outstanding results.
Operating his own business provided valuable experience in entrepreneurship, leadership, and business management while teaching him how to recognize and seize new opportunities.
That opportunity came through an Andy Elliott sales conference, where Tyger met Luis Diaz and Clay Bowman. Inspired by their vision for building a premier real estate operation in East Tennessee, he saw the chance to be part of something special. He sold his business, left Pennsylvania, and relocated to Tennessee to pursue a larger vision and help grow the company.
Today, Tyger serves as a leader within God Family Country Property Management LLC, overseeing many of the company's daily operations across a growing rental portfolio throughout the Knoxville area. His responsibilities include leasing, tenant relations, maintenance coordination, property oversight, and investor reporting. He also holds an active Tennessee real estate license.
Having successfully built a business from the ground up, Tyger understands the value of discipline, hard work, and long-term thinking. Alongside Luis Diaz and Clay Bowman, he is helping build a real estate company dedicated to serving investors, residents, and communities throughout East Tennessee. As the company continues to grow, Tyger remains committed to delivering exceptional service and helping drive its long-term success.
Nelson Tercero
Nelson leads GFC’s Home Rehabilitation Division and brings decades of construction experience in Knoxville, Tennessee. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed everything from large-scale renovation projects and new construction developments to complex residential rehabs. Known throughout Knoxville for his exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail, and commitment to quality, Nelson has earned a reputation as one of the area's most respected construction professionals.
As the leader of our rehabilitation division, Nelson oversees multiple crews and projects with confidence, efficiency, and unwavering professionalism. A highly skilled craftsman and natural problem solver, he possesses extensive expertise in all aspects of residential construction, including framing, plumbing, electrical, drywall, finish work, and project management. His ability to identify solutions, maintain schedules, and deliver outstanding results makes him an invaluable asset to both our company and our investors.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Nelson is a man of strong faith, high character, and unwavering integrity. As a devoted husband, father, and leader, he exemplifies the values of God, Family, and Country that define our organization. His dedication to excellence ensures that every home we renovate is structurally sound, beautifully finished, and built to provide lasting value for both our investors and the families who ultimately call these houses home.
